Anything stick like, brooms, mops, they scare me! Oh, and stupid cats. I'm a dog, aren't I supposed to hate them? Geesh.

My ideal day:
I love sleeping in the sun with a bone under my paw!

My Story:

Truman the dog is a one year old German shepherd mix and was found running on Cleaver II on Monday August 26th. He was with a female companion dog and hiding near the Naval Reserve base. I pulled over and called both dogs to me, Truman ran right up to me, and I was able to put him in the car. His companion was a little more reluctant to approach, but eventually did. I was able to keep the dogs in a crate at ny house for a night, and tried calling every rescue in the area to find a place for them. Nobody called me back, and not wanting to put my own dogs in jeopardy, I put both dogs in the KC Animal Shelter. Later that night a woman from Golden Retriever Rescue in KC called to inquire about the small female that was with Truman, and was interested in saving her. Knowing that the female was saved, I felt obligated to save the poor boy as well. I then made arrangements to pull the little boy dog. (The girl is now located at Wayside Waifs). Truman was neutered and given all of his shots, but unfortunately came up heartworm positive. He has been treated for heartworm, and is well on the road to recovery. Truman is the sweetest dog in the entire world. A dog who couldnt eat because he was shaking so badly is now the dog that insists upon sitting in my lap and snuggling. His coat is getting shiny and his teeth are now a pearly white.

He would be great with all other dogs, but not cats. He would do GREAT with children!
