Nicknames: Radar Love, Ray Ray, Basenji Butt

Note from Radar: Hi, my name’s Radar. I guess that’s because of my big ears-hehe. Hey, it could be worse…I could have been named Dumbo, like the big elephant! I may be a lot of things, but dumb isn’t one of them. My foster Mom says that she’s going to get one of those bumper stickers for her car that says “My Basenji/Pit Mix is smarter than your honor student!”

She rescued me from the warehouse district, but she can’t keep me much longer. Somehow, I lost my way home and ended up running with a bunch of feral dogs down there. One of the workers at a warehouse could tell that I wasn’t wild like the rest of the pack, so he let me crash inside for awhile, ‘til the boss found out.

I stay with a new pack now. Sometimes I think I’M the boss, but Mom lets me know that I’m not. She thinks I would benefit from some “formal” training. Does she really think I need to know how to tie a tie, and which fork to use for salad? What? Oh, my bad! My friend just told me “not that kind of formal”. I guess she means obedience training. Dog stuff…like how to have good manners by not jumping on people, walking on a leash, waiting to be fed or let outside. I sometimes get a little over zealous. I think it would be so awesome to be one of those dogs that catches Frisbees or runs through tunnels. I love to play fetch too.

I love my Mom, and really try hard to please her. She hugs me and tells me that I have a very earnest face, and that she hopes I find a good home soon. I’ll be scared to leave, but also excited to have a fur-ever home. Maybe one with a 4 legged sister! Please, let me come to your house to live!
