Pepper was dumped at a vet clinic by her first owner after being hit by a car. They couldn't afford to treat her and wanted her put to sleep.

One of the staff members fell in love with Pepper and took her home to save her life. However, due to life changes Pepper once again lost her home due to no fault of her home.

Thankfully a wonderful foster home stepped up for her and we were able to take her into our program.

Update 5/2008 Foster home:

Pepper is doing terrific in her foster home. She has adapted well in our home. She gets along great with our 3 year old male pitbull mix, Rollie. They love to play in our huge back yard. We have a two year old son and we all go out back after work and play till dark. She gets along well with him also. She goes into “Mommy mode” and gives him kisses which he thinks is hilarious, it’s pretty cute to watch! She is very attentive to him. Her and Rollie love to wrestle around. Pepper is very amicable and gets along with anyone and everyone from strangers to other dogs. She loves to sleep in the bed with us and if we’re not careful she will tunnel under the covers all the way down to the bottom of the bed! She is full of energy, as she is still young, but she is also okay with lounging around. But as with any dog, regular exercise is key. She is a great cuddler and loves to sleep, literally on top of you, if you let her, which I do b/c I soak it up. She is very bright and picks things up quickly. She will be a wonderful addition to a family where she will get the love and attention she deserves. She will earn your love every single day and warm your heart the way she has warmed ours.

Pepper is a happy and delightful girl who loves EVERYTHING. She currently lives with 5 cats who she does great with. She frequents the dog park and gets along beautifully with everyone there. She knows many commands and will gladly show them off to you for a treat.
