We aren’t too sure what Pepper’s story is, except that she was found wandering the streets in Kansas and ended up in a kill shelter. When she first came to her foster home, she was shy and unsure. She would flinch if you raised your hand and we suspect that she had a rough start in life.

In foster care, Pepper has learned what it is like to love and be loved. She initially had problems with crate training, but is really getting the hang of it now and knows that we will not forget about her and leave her in there. We are glad to see her progress in that area as we suspected her fear stemmed from her lengthy stay at the shelter. She was also a little underweight and hesitant to eat when we first got her and we are delighted to see the enthusiastic eater she has become.

This little sweetheart has really come into her own and is simply one in a million. To meet her is to instantly love her! She absolutely adores children and will let them hug, play and lay all over her. She loves it! She also loves sleeping on the couch and will be a very sad pooch if you don’t let her on the furniture to cuddle with you.

On occasion, she will walk around on her hind legs, but does it only at random moments and not on command. She can sit, shake, beg, high five and is very polite on a leash. She can jump amazingly high and it would be best if she could have a yard with a 6 foot fence to play in. She is great with other dogs, but cannot be placed in a home with a cat.

We are very impressed with Pepper and know she will make a fantastic addition to your family. She very much wants to find her forever family, and she can’t wait for you to make that dream come true for her!
