Howie
was Adopted!!
Nicknames: Howard, Howie Wowie,
Silver Fox, Baby, Big Head. Little boy blue, hungry hippo, pig pen
Videos:

Pet Peeves: When others try
to take my toys…
Interests: I love being in a
house again! My foster parents let me into their bedroom and I climbed
right into the bed and let out a nice long sighhhhhhhhh! I love
going on walks, I am fantastic with other dogs on leash. Heck, I
sat in Petco for 4 hours and didn’t react to anyone…
well, there was this one little dog I barked at, but everyone else
I love! Just try to look away from me… just try! I am a bonafide
“lady killer” because of my debonair looks, small manly
build and perfectly chiseled features. I love girl dogs in particular,
well… more like they love me… what can I say, I am a
handsome boy!
Ideal Day: My ideal day is pretty
much my real days. I wake up, get some lovin’ in my foster
parents bed, snuggle, get petted, get fed and then play play play!
I love to play. I have 2 foster sisters (3 & 5 years) and a
foster brother (2 years). We get along famously. We run around out
back after squirrels and birds! I have a VERY high prey drive, which
means I would make a fantastic squirrel repellant… Do you
have a yard that needs the squirrels exterminated? I don’t
actually catch them, I just chase them! This sounds hilarious because
I have been cat tested and I passed! Lets just say I like to pick
and choose my opponents, I know which side my bread is buttered
on!
The awesomeness that is Howie:
Howie is crate trained, almost potty trained (he has marked 2x indoors
and got in trouble both times, and seems to have no aggression.
He doesn’t react when other dogs poke him with their noses
and gets along fine with the 2 year old male he lives with. He does
well on a flat collar leash and loves going for long walks.
Howie would be ideal in a home with kids, or a single person. He
loves everyone and just needs to feel some love back.
He has small scars on his face, they’re pretty new and will
likely go away that are from barbed wire from the farm he used to
live on. His fur is as soft as a bunnys, and he LOVES to snuggle!
The kennel workers who saved this boy actually cried when he left
their kennel, that is how special he is!
My Story:
It is likely that Howie was an indoor family pet at one time in
his life. He knows how to use stairs, is fairly potty trained, even
after months of outdoor living and LOVES a snuggle in bed.
Howie wondered up to a country farm a few months ago where he instantly
fit in. He has spent the last couple of months living with two other
male dogs and farm cats. He did excellent with all of them.
Though the family that found him cared a great deal for him, they
knew their set up wasn't ideal, as Howie was living outdoors as
a farm dog when he really wanted and needed to be an indoor family
dog.
Howie is currently living is a foster home with 3 other dogs and
doing great with them. He has some very minor issues that his foster
folks are working on, but he should be in tip top shape in no time.
We all know how outdoor country living can affect the manners, so
he is getting back into the swing of things quickly.
He is too sweet for words and if not the cutest one of the cutest
dogs we've met in a long time ;) Howie loves people and does well
with all ages, even young children. He has so much to offer and
we can't wait until he finds the home he deserves.
